New birbs deliverd!

A bunch of birbs

I’m blessed. Obviously two charges of starlings and two charges of sparrows are delivered the last week. Now, they are fighting for food at my bird feeder.

I could only take a shot with few of them – there is not enough space.

But I was counting about 12 new starlings and a LOT (uncountable, because they are fast) of sparrwos.

Friday last week, I spotted the first new ones on the cam.

The starlings: They can fly, but their landing is some kind of clumbsy if it is not the ground.

The sparrows: They quickly flap their wingtips while sitting on the ground and jerking their heads at the sky.

Saturday, there was a young starling which runs to every other bird coming in the feeder (sparrows, tits, other starlings). I thought, he was chasing them and defending the food, but a bit later, some elder starlings comes to the feeder and then, the young starling gets feeded by the old one. So I guess, instead of chasing the other birds, he only wanted to be feeded 🙂

Two little sparrows (oh my god, so fluffy!) are sitting on the railing, then an adult one gets nuts from the feeder, fly to the railing between the both and feed them.

Today, the feeder was running out of food very fast (who wonder…) and there was a big fighting, pecking, chasing for the last nuts. I didn’t want to scare them, so I waited until it calms down and the feeder was abandoned. I rushed to the feeder, filled it up and the attack on food continued.
